Steven creates a magic bubble around himself and a girl he likes, Connie, to save her from a falling rock, but has no idea how to make it disappear. While navigating out of an ancient Gem maze, Steven tries to prove himself worthy to Garnet by being serious. Steven joins an underground wrestling league with Amethyst, who is tired of Pearl and Garnet bringing her down. Steven befriends a magical lion he finds in the desert during a mission with the Gems.
Steven takes the Gems on his own kind of adventure by bringing them to the Fun Land Arcade, where Garnet soon becomes enchanted by a dancing game. Steven urges Amethyst and Pearl to fuse together into a four-armed "giant woman" named Opal Aimee Mann.
Amethyst and Pearl, however, keep on quarrelling. After learning that the Gems are thousands of years old, Steven decides to make up for all the birthdays they've missed. Steven and Lars get to hang out with the cool kids Jenny Pizza, Buck Dewey and Sour Cream in town, but their teenage shenanigans get them into magical trouble. A toy trade between Steven and Onion escalates into epic proportions. Pearl gets injured and retreats into her gem to heal and make a new body to project after she tries to teach Steven the art of sword-fighting using a holographic version of herself.
Steven and Connie try to ride Lion to the movie theater, but Lion has other plans. After a battle damages the Fish Stew Pizza sign, the Gems are banned from the restaurant, so Steven throws a cookout on the beachside to mend the relationship between the Pizza family and the Gems. Steven's desire for some alone time unlocks a new room in the Temple that answers his every wish.
Against Pearl's wishes, Steven becomes determined to get stronger after watching Garnet and Amethyst fuse into the mighty Sugilite. Steven works at the Big Donut when Lars leaves Sadie with all the work. Steven needs a musical partner for an upcoming show, so he uses a time travel device to recruit himself as the perfect bandmate. Steven attempts to tame a monster's wild form when he accidentally releases it from its gem bubble.
Steven tells Connie about his mission with the Gems to heal Amethyst after she cracks her gemstone. Steven befriends a magical mirror that can mysteriously communicate with only him and ends up setting free its trapped inhabitant, a Gem named Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli disappears after reigniting a past conflict with Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl, and takes the ocean along with her, leaving Beach City in a panic on the first day of summer. Steven, Connie, Greg, Lion and the Gems go on a mission to confront Lapis and set things back to normal.
Left homeless and with a broken leg after the events of the previous episode, Greg stays with Steven and the Gems as a temporary house guest and unintentionally interferes with Steven's healing powers. Steven, Pearl and Greg work together to build a spaceship so that Pearl can revisit the wonders of the cosmos, but Pearl gets a little carried away.
After they accidentally pop a bubble containing gem shards, Steven, Amethyst and Pearl form a secret team to retrieve the shards before Garnet finds out. Steven tries to mend Lars' and Sadie's friendship by taking them on vacation to a magical beach. Steven is taken in by Ronaldo's conspiracy theories about paranormal occurrences in Beach City. Steven asks the Gems to fuse together and pretend to be his mother at dinner with Connie's family.
Steven interprets what Garnet did during the day after a recent mission. Steven grows a patch of watermelons shaped like himself, but they soon come to life and attack people. Lion keeps lying on Steven's face while he's sleeping. This leads to Steven discovering a pocket dimension in Lion's mane. Steven becomes uneasy after seeing an unknown object traversing through a warp stream, despite the Gems' attempts to disprove his claims.
While practicing how to fuse with Gems, Steven accidentally fuses with Connie, forming a half-human and half-Gem, human fusion called Stevonnie. Steven finds out that the Lunar Sea Spire mission from the third episode was a test and demands a new one. Steven learns that Garnet can see into the future and becomes paranoid about the possible dangers around him.
Steven and Amethyst try life out on the road. During so, Amethyst reveals a dark secret about herself and the Gems to Steven. Steven goes to the lighthouse to watch scary movies with Ronaldo, Lars and Sadie. Steven has to take Connie back to her home before a blizzard hits Beach City, and Garnet shows him some outcomes before they leave. While cleaning out Greg's storage unit, Greg and Amethyst are reunited with their favorite sitcom Li'l Butler.
When several droids from space descend towards warp pad zones, Steven and the Gems attempt to track down their purposes. Pearl takes Steven to a special place that belonged to Rose Quartz after Lion finds the scabbard for Rose's sword. Steven and the Gems need Greg's help to retrieve a message from the Wailing Stone. A new threat arrives in Beach City. Trapped on Peridot's ship, Steven attempts to rescue the Gems from the Homeworld's clutches, including two Gems named Ruby and Sapphire.
Steven tries to avoid Connie so he won't have to tell her about his ordeal with the Homeworld Gems from the previous episodes. Steven and Connie want a new ending to a beloved book series, so Steven takes them into Rose's Room to re-enact it. Buck, Jenny and Sour Cream take Steven out on a late-night joyride to lift his spirits.
In this non-canon episode, Uncle Grandpa arrives to aid Steven in unlocking the power of his gem. Greg tells Steven the story of when he first met Rose Quartz. Steven and Buck make T-shirts.
When Jamie the mailman falls in love with Garnet, Steven and Connie must help turn him down gently. Amethyst keeps trying to find a new form to regenerate into while she, Steven and Garnet chase after a monster loose in the Temple. Wanting to protect Steven, Connie takes up swordfighting lessons with Pearl. While the Crystal Gems chase after Peridot in the Kindergarten, Steven and Garnet discover a dark secret while exploring its inner workings.
After witnessing Steven and Connie fuse again, Greg explains to them how he learned about gem fusion from his time with Rose Quartz, hoping to pull it off himself in order to grow closer to her. Garnet has Pearl and Amethyst stay with Steven, who is exhausted from searching for Malachite in the ocean with the Gems, for a slumber party. However, Steven is rattled by recurring dreams of Lapis Lazuli.
When TV broadcasts are disrupted by a video signal emitted by Peridot from a Gem communication tower, Garnet chooses to fuse with Pearl into Sardonyx to destroy it, which dismays Amethyst. As the tower keeps being fixed, however, Steven and Amethyst are shocked to discover who's really behind it. While visiting an out-of-state motel with Steven and Greg, Garnet's frustration with Pearl's actions causes her to split up into Ruby and Sapphire again.
When they visit Onion's house, Amethyst rekindles her friendship with his mother, Vidalia, while he shows Steven around his room. Steven is asked by Jamie to participate in a play funded by Mayor Dewey about Beach City's founding, with Pearl stepping in to provide a more historically accurate script. S5, Ep8.
Steven, Amethyst, and Peridot visit the Kindergarten again, and try introduce life back to it. S5, Ep9. Sadie is struggling to handle working without Lars. Steven and the Cool Kids start a band. S5, Ep Steven and Connie go visit Lars in space but things have changed. Steven shoots a documentary about Sadie Killer and the Suspects. Steven and Garnet explore the most unlikely time lines within Beach City. Steven writes letters to Lars talking about the latest news and events that transpired in Beach City.
Steven travels to the moon to identify a plethora of answers to his questions while coming across a certain friend unexpectedly. Followed by hearing about the revelation, many problems ensue within the crystal gems' relationships.
Amethyst convinces Steven to take a break after all he's been through. After falling out with Sapphire, Ruby decides to spend time on her own. Inspired by the Western comic books she's been reading, she decides to become a cowboy. Ruby and Sapphire are planning their wedding, Steven decides to invite an old friend. Steven brings everyone together for a special reunion. Steven And Amethyst compete against each other while training with Pearl.
Steven discovers something the Gems thought was lost to the past inside of Lion's mane. Amethyst acts strangely when she and Steven visit friends from the country. After finding Jasper once again, but now in the Beta Kindergarten, Steven and Amethyst face off with her. Jasper had been trapping corrupted gems in holes around the Kindergarten to use as an army.
